Support the photography & media/comms work of Hope In Focus for the SOA Watch border encuentro

Hope In Focus has endorsed the 2nd Annual SOA Watch Border Encuentro and will be traveling to provide on the ground media/comms support using photography and story-telling. SOA Watch will graciously be covering gas money and a place to stay once I arrive.

Can you help provide financial support to help cover food and additional travel expenses?

100% of all donations to Hope In Focus always go directly to support the travel and expenses to walk (acompanamiento) in deep solidarity with grassroots-led movement building for human dignity and freedom.

Calling on all allied organizations and collectives to endorse the 2017 SOA Watch Border Encuentro

This year’s 2nd Border Encuentro at the U.S./Mexico border is a direct response to the call for solidarity with the border communities to resist militarization, support refugees and migrants, and to denounce the US military, political and economic policies in Latin America that creates the conditions for forced displacement and violence. There is no wall or border that can deter the solidarity of people!

To generate the biggest possible impact, it is important to build a strong coalition of groups to make the Encuentro a success and to challenge the oppressive systems that perpetuate U.S. imperialism, militarization, and racism.

Will your organization join us and endorse the Border Encuentro?

SOA Watch renews its commitment to the people of Latin America and its diasporas by continuing the struggle against militarization that promotes violence, while embracing an active solidarity that connects with broader struggles for justice and liberation. Today more than ever, we need to build power from the bottom up. We hope we can work together to achieve this goal. We hope to see you in the Borderlands.
